Since i'm using dnn 4.8 i cannot find the possibility to export custom modules to a private assembly. There is no option anymore to export my module to a zip file. How can this be? I'm logged in as a host admin.

Samet KAYA,

The option to create a module package is available only if you are using a local installation of DotNetNuke. Therefore if you are using an instance of DotNetNuke that is installed on a remote server you will not see this option. I can only speculate as to the reasons for implementing the feature in that way, but it is - as they say - what it is.

Take care,

Ian

This is too funny. I recently upgraded an instance because it didn't have this option available but I bet I was accessing it from my desktop and not the server.

I assumed it was due to the version I was running on the server vs what I had on my local machine.

oke, but what is the difference between a local and remote server?

Hey Samet KAYA,

Local means accessing and running a DotNetNuke site from your computer (e.g. http://localhost/DotNetNuke).

Remote is when you are accessing the site from a hosting provider (e.g. http://www.dotnetnuke.com).

So essentially this functionality is reserved primarily for those that have a local DotNetNuke development environment set up.

Hope that helps,

Ian
