Issue 1)

Everything goes fine for install until it does the database scripts where i recieve the below script messages and it continues forever. I've done many DNN installations and this the first issue i've seen like this. I've done this several times already with the same results. Please not this was with the INSTALL version of 4.8.4.

Issue 2)

I tried to debug the source files  however the 4.8.4 SOURCE download will not publish or build the website project. All other projects build. It looks as if someone ran a clean up tool and it stripped a bunch of "Imports" statements from all of the files within that project. I'd say there is probably a loss of Imports on 90% of the files. I tried for a hour and a half to put them back in however I got to point where it was getting ridiciolus. Some Imports statments missing were:

Imports DotNetNuke.UI
Imports DotNetNuke.Common
Imports DotNetNuke.Services.Excpetions
Imports DotNetNuke.Entities.Users
Imports DotNetNuke.Utility

I was having the same issue over the weekend, till I found an obscure blog post out in the wild. The blog post pointed to a folder not being created in the App_code folder.  Take a look in the app_code folder and check to see that a Folder called HTML exists. If it doesn't create it.

What I ended up doing was completely deleting DNN files and the database. Then recreated everything, checked the app_code folder, created the HTML folder. Then tried the install again and bada bing everything worked.

I also had an issue with using the Windows Zip File Extractor to unzip the files. It seems this causes a corrupt version, I downloaded JZIP to unzip the files and eveything worked fine.

Once I got DNN installed and running I am impressed. I am jsut having issues installing the starter kit now :-(

I doubt the import statements were stripped. What was your folder structure when you unzipped the source version? There are multiple projects and references are setup relative to your paths... Just an FYI, I've downloaded the source version of 4.8.4 and used it without any problems (both on the SQL as well as Oracle side)...
I would look at something else being the cause of your problems besides the build itself...

Hi!

I solved the problem in IE with setting to 'Auto' but this is not the ultimate and easy solution... Make the installation fresh from Firefox instead and it will work flawlessly (if everything else is set up correctly that is).. at least it did for me..
