Regarding the calendar on one page and details on another page; how can the details be viewed on the same page as the calendar, perhaps on a different pane. I read this can be done using an instance (copy) of the calendar and changing the view on the instance (copy), but how do I create an instance?

I've been trying to figure out a way to do what has been done on the homepage of twincitytc.org for the last day or so, but without any luck.

What I have, is an event calendar on a seperate page, and a smaller calendar linked to the main calendar shown on the homepage. I've been able to do this part just fine, and the homepage/sidebar calendar shows the main calendars events just fine, but when I click on an event on the small calendar (trying to open a page to show the details of the event) the page refreshes and the event details are shown in the side bar.

What I want, is when I click on an event on the sidebar/homepage calendar, for it to open in a new page, as it does when you click on an event on the main calendar page.

On TwinCitytc.org, when I click on an event shown on the list on the left, it opens a new page with the details instead of putting that info back into the sidebar... this is exactly what I'm trying to do. I've tried using the 'Event Detail New Page' option, but that just refreshed the page and listed the details of the vent in the sidebar.

So, how would I go about setting my event calendar like twincitytc's?

Thanks for any help

Can you provide a link for us to look at, and then we can advice how it should be set up? On both the calendars shown on twincitytc, they would be set up as Event Detail New Page.

Thanks
Roger

I don't have a site to show, as this is only on a development box at the moment... but due to other limitations with the Events module, it looks like we will have to go ahead and purchase an event calnder that has a few more options and is a little more polished.
