First, any idea when 5 will be released to the general public?

Second, how will be the upgrade process like?

i.e. 4.5.5 to 5 and 4.8.2 to 5?

Thanks everyone!

I'm not part of the core, but from all my reading and such, the impression I have is that they are aiming to get it out this quarter (Q2), the 4.8 security fixes took a couple weeks from work on 5. The process of upgrading to 5 from 4 should be a smooth transition with nothing 'special' to do.

That is my impression of things from all the information I've seen.

5.0 will be released once we feel it's up to production quality - AFAIR at present there are 37 outstanding bugs, with lots more testing to go, so it's hard to put an exact date on it, ideally sometime in the next few weeks.

There will also be a 4.8.5 release (probably released before 5.0 unless the bugs are cleared up really quickly), it's likely to be in next 2 weeks.

Both releases will be standard upgrades, nothing special needs to be done.

Any update on the 4.8.5 patch? 4.8.4 is causing lots of SSL issues and I have a store I am trying to launch in mid August.

Based on this and other posts, it looks like 4.8.5 is eminent, but it would be nice to hear from someone in the know.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Cliff,

I am not aware of much in the way of SSL fixes coming for 4.8.5 -- are you looking for a specific fix in that release?  You can see what changes are coming through the 4.8.5 road map in Gemini at support.dotnetnuke.com.  There is one (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=6222&PROJID=2), but I doubt this addresses your problem (I believe I recall reading your post for assistance on this topic).
