Was wondering how the menu knows when a request is a spider?

The menu uses the underlying .NET framework to detect a spider.

System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.Browser.Crawler

Gets a value indicating whether the client browser is a Web crawler search engine.

true if the browser client is a search engine; otherwise, false. The default is false.

Glad to see you got your problem fixed.  However, feel compelled to warn you that while modifying the spmenu.js file is completely fine, it may prove difficult to upgrade to new releases without having to open this file up each time and making a change.  There are other ways to fix the problem, as evidenced by many of the skins out there that do not exhibit the "bumping".

I have had versy similar problems with the SolPartMenu.

Just can't get it to look the way I want. :(

One thing I just don't get is why there is no SubMenuItemCssClass property but only a SubMenuCssClass ???

But if I want to use the Menu component from Telerik, how is the way to do it. I would like it to be plugged into the DNN structure like the SolPartMenu is. But is this possible in a simple way, or will I have to make new providers for it like it was done with the ASP2Menu ?

The SolPart menu is easy to use in a skin, and ofcourse I would like this features for the new menu as well. But since I will have to use other properties for the menu I find it hard to reuse the NavigationProvider and the NavObjectBase
