Hey All,

Looking for a little help with this one.  We are currently running DNN 4.08.04 and Documents Module 4.00.00.  My company has recently upgraded to Office 2007 and it seems that Microsoft has changed the default behavior associated with opening an 2007 Excel document (xlsx) from a browser.  It used to be that an excel file would open in a new browser file when launched from a hyperlink.  Currently, the user is prompted to 'open' or 'save' - and, if they select 'open' they get another pop-up with only a save option.  There is an article (http://blogs.msdn.com/excel/archive/2006/09/26/771221.aspx)  that explains this change, but making the suggested change does not affect the behavior.  Anyone else in the same boat?

Any help appreciated!  Andy

A couple of things that is not causing this...  (1) The mime types for the 2007 office files have been registered on the IIS server.  I can code a direct link to the file and it opens correctly.  (2)  The client side file type properties are configured correctly (browse in same window disabled).

I think that this has something to do with the linkclick.aspx function...  The office applications think that they are opening an aspx file... not a word or excel doc.  Anyone...

Andy,

I'm not sure that I am going to have an answer for you on this one.

It is an issue relating to the LinkClick.aspx functionality, which is managed by the core.

You might try posting in the Chat about it forum for some help there as well.

I'll try to dig into this for you, but I do not have Office 2007 to test with so it will be a bit hard.
