Hi,

I am new to this community and I am here with really very weird problem. I hope I will find answer or workaround to my problem.

I have two websites/Portal created on DotnetNuke Framework. (Website A, Website B). I have hosted these two website/portal as individual website in IIS.

Please note both the Websites i.e. Website A and Website B are configured to have same IP address.

Both websites are pointing to same Local path. I need this configuration so that I have flexibility to turn on/off any website as I required.

But when I try to access both sites simulteneously I face some very weird behaviour. Navigations goes wild. I am throw to any page.

When I do IIS reset and access only one site then every thing works fine.

Do anyone have idea why Dotnetnuke behave in this fashion when configured as seperate Websites instead on portal(virtual directory)?

What is the workaround for this?

you should use same web site but 2 host headers in advanced IP configuration, this allows to disable each domain by simply removing the associated host header. Using 2 web sites is not recommended.

What address are you typing to access the different sites? I assume you are using http://localhost/xyz for the default web site. But what about the second one?

Have you told your DNS how to get to the other site? Did you set them up in seperate application groups in IIS?

Are you able to access both sites?

Robert

You can either use 2 installations of DotnetNuke or use 2 parent portals and use the domain aliases (portal settings)  to point the domains to the correct portals.
