thats the error i get with googlebot and web-sniffer when i test it. However it loads a-ok in my browsers from a number of IPs. to make matters interesting I have ad auth. enabled for the internal IP range and my public IP is some form of smart host that has been explained to me as a reverse proxy connection back to the webserver we run. so our server is only listening on a private address, central office bounce connections through. I'm lost as to why the 302 redirects to the same page that you access. if you test www.somepage.com/SiteMap.aspx you get a 302 moved temp. to www.somepage.com/SiteMap.aspx. but browsers are generally not affected. I havent tested the scope of the problem to see if its country specific but web-sniffer can retrieve static pages a-ok and so can googlebot.

the only portal alias for the portal is the one used to access it and its the one returned in the 302s. not sure whats wrong here, but i know its my IIS server generating the 302s (the logs show it) and it doesnt affect site access for people browsing the site. any help, ideas for debugging?

im limited to how its currently configured so i cant get a different host or change the connection aspect, but we own the server so it can be reconfigured. but saying that its also a core part of our network and it cant be taken down. i just want to stop the 302s pretty much
