All portals are the same, a child portal falls underneath a parent, as in http://www.parent1.com/child1.  Parent portals are alongside the top portals, as in http://www.portal1.com/, http://www.portal2.com/, etc.  Child portals do not rely on registering new domains or adding DNS entries.

There is a third, also parent portal, option, where you don't register a new domain name but you do need to make DNS entries.  That's a host in the same domain, as in http://parent1.domain.com/, http://parent2.domain.com/, etc.

If you're having trouble creating a portal, let us know where you're stuck.

Jeff

Hi there.

I will tell you what i am doing.

First when i am opening that domain on Godaddy I am giving the directory on DNN is already installed.

then i am opening the host of the dnn and making a portal named same as the domain. and now when i am typing the address of that domain its not taking me to the new portal. its giving me page not found.

So can any one tell me where i am wrong.

Thanks

Did you create a DNS record for your new domain?

Jeff
