So what if I want to move to a different internet service provider?

Does anyone have a process for copying the current data base FROM the current ISP locally and then uploading it to a new ISP? Is that how it's done?

Is there anything automated to do this?

Thanks!

A while back I created a tutorial on how to migrate from one hosting provider to 3Essentials my recommended hosting provider.  You can find the full article here: http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/articletype/articleview/articleid/122/migration-of-existing-site-to-3essentials.aspx

Hi,

Ask your old ISP to make a SQL backup, zip it up, and put it in your web folder so you can FTP download it.  Then upload it to the web folder at your new ISP, and ask them to restore it for you on their SQL server.  The ISP's I have dealt with will do this free.

Thanks,

Mike
