Hi there

Is there any way to "extract" the admin and host menues from the default menu?
I would like to create a vertical menu that only displayes the menuitems the users can see and then one that only holds admin and host.

It this possible - and if so, how?

I am confused.

That is the way DNN behaves. User does not see admin or host. Only Admin sees the user and host.

Yes... but.

If I create a menu and tell it to display the first level only - then the admin and host menues are useless...

Therefor I would like to create a secondary menu what holds those two - or create something else that will enable me to administrate my site. It kinda sucks that the admin tols are a part of what I want to display to the users...

I agree that the host and admin parent tabs should be each a page that has a list of the sub tabs in host and admin. This has been raised a number of times in the past few years. However, I have not given it too much thought to see if there are other implication, so for this to have been designend in this way in the first place.

The work around is for you to create another skin type that shows the child tabs and use that skin type for one of the hidden tabs that when you are in as admin is exposed for you to navigate

I only have used RadMenu from Telerik lately, which I know this is possible with.

Ingen Systems has a nice floating admin/host module that you might want to look at.
