I am having a very strange file access problem and can´t get my head around it. When I try to edit a resx file using the host >Languages> Language editor I get an "access denied" error even though I am logged in as a Host user. If I try to edit the same file, logged in as the same user, but using Admin > Languages > Language editor I do not get this error and I can modify the file without problems.

Anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

make sure, that full file system permissions for the virtual user "Network Service" (or "ASPNET" on WinXP) have been granted for all resource files and to create files in the app_resources folders.

That was indeed my first hunch aswell but all rights are set correctly for as far as I can see. The strange thing is that the same user can edit the file when editing from Admin > Languages but not from Host > Languages. If the userrights would not be set correctly it would generate an error in both.
