I have some users using FCKEditor to post articles with images, and they upload those images through FCKEditor. How can I give them access to DNN's file manager so that they can delete the images they upload? Or how can I let them delete those images in other ways?

Hi Joao,

This category of behavior will be enabled with the DNN 5.0 release (making admin pages and modules available to non-admin users), though I suspect that it might be some subsequent release before the file manager is specifically retooled for general use.

In the meantime, you'll probably need to look for a third party module to accomplish your design goal.  Others will be able to name a few of the better ones; I do not have any experience with any such modules.

Hope this helps!

Brandon

Why not use the repository module?

I've been begging for this all over the place since day one!

The only option has been TK Filemanager which is a duplicate of the core file manager lifted out for use anywhere. This would have been perfect, but it was very buggy from the start and the developers are unresponsive twits. I'm still using it, but with about half the functionality trimmed off. There is no worthwhile alternative (and I've put good money towards more than one), so I'm desparately hoping Cambrian will at least be usable. Even a simple delete button in the FCK image browser would go a long way towards solving some of the issues. Locopon has indicated that there is code present for the purpose, but it has been like two years now.

Using the repository does not allow for easy "point and click" use of the images in FCKEditor.

Thank you all for your feedback - I think I'll wait for 5.0 for this
