Every DNN Module that I create that has more than one page to it does something a little funny. Whenever I go to another ascx page within my module, all of the other content panes on the page disappear and the skin reverts back to the site default one. for instance... in my DNN module I have a MainView.ascx and a DetailView.ascx page. when i go to the page with the module on it, all of the other content panes on the page show up just fine with thier own modules within them. once i click somthing in the module to go to the DetailView.ascx page, all of the content panes dissappear (even the main contentPane). This is not specific to my module either. every custom one that I have seen created does this. For instance, I purchased A calendar Module off of snowcovered and it does the same thing them a user is viewing an event detail.

Is this just some kind of a setting you have to have on your ascx file that will make the content panes appear?

any help is appreciated.

thanks!!!

-Joe

This is by design with DNN, I have struggled with it for years, now i just use ajax and a custom loader.  You should have a control that uses LoadControl("UserControl.ascx") and have this page control load whatever control you need to show an example. You just set strControlName to the one you want to load.  This way DNN does not use the /clt/controlname/mid/123 in the url.

Me.Panel1.Controls.Add(Me.LoadControl("~/DesktopModules/YourModule/" & strControlName ".ascx"))
