I've tried everything I can think of, so as a last resort I'm posting here, hope it's the appropriate place.

I'm trying to use Evotiva BackupScript. I've gone through their support but they've never seen this error. I'm using DNN 04.08.04 and also tried on 04.08.02 also.

---> System.Exception: Error scripting data from table: dbo.[aspnet_Applications] ---> System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at Evotiva.BackupUtilities.SQLScripting.֕(Int32 ֖, String ժ, Boolean ֗, String ֘, StringBuilder ֙) at Evotiva.BackupUtilities.SQLScripting. (String ֑, String ի, String յ, String ն) at Evotiva.BackupUtilities.SQLScripting. (String[] , Boolean , String յ, String )

This seems to be popular software so hopefully someone here may be able to offer suggestions.

I tried using 'Impersonate backup thread', tried excluding the above table it failed on, but it'd fail on the next.
I've updated all modules, removed any that weren't being used, restarted the server, but nothing seems to work.

I'm running all the latest service packs for Windows and MS SQL. The permissions on the folder look good, it can create the folder, clean up the temporary folder when starting. Searching for that error (Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt) shows that it is a very general error that can pop up for many reasons.

Theories?

Thanks, Rob

I'm getting a similar error when I try to install the Ali Commerce shopping cart. I've posted a question on their site. Yours is the only similar post I've found here.

I got the solution for this. If you are running the application on a 64bit OS, you need to set up the app pool to enable 32bit operations. In IIS7, the same app pool can run both 64bit and 32 bit, and it's as simple as flipping a config setting in the IIS manager. In IIS6, as I understand it, you'll need to create a new pool that runs in 32bit mode and move the DNN application over to that pool.

Hello,

I've just saw this post.

For the records: the problem can be solved compiling the module with "optimizations" disabled (i.e. <Optimize>false</Optimize> in the .vbproj)

With this change, the module can run in 32 and 64 bits without any extra configuration. At least for now, it works.

We've made that change long time ago (I don't remember when)

Best regards,

Horacio.-
