Hello, I don't seem to understand the connection string necessary to connect to my database on a remote host. Can anyone help me out here? I have:

<add

      name="SiteSqlServer"

      connectionString="Server=C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Clients\beta_myclient_com\database;Database=dotnetnuke.sql;uid=myuid;pwd=mypwd;"

      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

I won't be surprised if it's something really simple. I'm a designer, not a developer. Go easy on me... thanks

A break down of the paramters required in the connection string

Server: this is the IP address or the DNS name of the remote database.  e.g  Server=mssql.myhost.com

Database:  this is the name of the database usually created by you through the control panel of your hosting provider. e.g Database=dnn484

Uid:  this is the username of id to connect to the database. e.g  Uid=myuid

Pwd:  this is the password associated with the username.  e.g Pwd:mypwd

The full connection string would then look like

<add

      name="SiteSqlServer"

      connectionString="Server=mssql.myhost.com;Database=dnn484;uid=myuid;pwd=mypwd;"

      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
