Is there a way to use windows live writer to publish blog entries into the DNN blog module?  Is there a place with instructions printed? Is this simple enough that you can just type up a quick set of instructions?

WLW support is coming in the 3.5 version of the blog which is in the release tracker right now and should be available soon.  Our company, IT Crossing, has also released a product called metaPost which allows you to manage multiple types of DNN content from within Windows Live Writer.  The Community Edition is free and it ships with a blog module provider along with other providers for DNN and third party modules that make it easy to manage a variety of your DotNetNuke content from within Windows Live Writer.  See my signature below for a link to the site where you can find videos that make it easier to get up and running with Windows Live Writer.

http://vashongreen.org/Blogs/WoodenBowlsBlog/tabid/76/EntryID/13/Default.aspx has step by step instructions for users to set up their own blog ONCE metapost is set up, in case that is of any help to folks.

I notice that the new blog module failed out of the release tracker on 8/13/08.  Is this getting fixed and put back into release tracker soon?  I really want the WLW function but want to stick with the core modules.  thx in advance

Hi Joiseystud,

the package needs to be fixed to comply the release tracker checks. When it will be ready it will be sent back to the release tracker. Unfortunately it is not that easy to give a reliable timeline for this.

Best regsards,
Dario Rossa
