I really can't figure out why this is happening but I am having the Default.css overiding the Skin.css.

I know the order of the css hierarchy, and have looked at the page and how the css files are loading... used the FireFox Developer bar too to look at the CSS it's picking up and the Default.css looks to be appearing after the Skin.css.

Why could this be happening?

The website I am 'toying' with whilst learning this is - www dot snug-bugs dot com.

Any help would be appreciated as it really has me stumped.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue.  Can someone please clarify the overriding order?

The order is:

Module.css (can be multiple if there are more modules on the page)
Default.css
Skin.css
"Skinname".css (will only load if you aded one)
Container.css
"ContainerName".css (will only load if you added one)
Portal.css

Normally you should be able to overwrite anything that's in default.css in skin.css.
The example site does load the CSS files in the right order, what's the thing that "does not get overwritten"?

Thanks Timo

I am fine with the order, there is plenty of info around saying that.

The problem I am having is appearing on www dot snug-bugs dot com and is obvious in the top right corner... where Default.css is overriding Skin.css - out of order (as you stated) and I just have no idea why this is happening and what I can do to stop it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

David

I've sorted it.

I hadn't realised that classes etc in other css skins could override formatting in css files further up the hierarchy.  It was this SkinObject class that was taking precendent over my usually css.  Inherit comes in useful here too!

Hopefully this can help some others too!
