Hi all

I liked this simple module for threaded discussions. I haven't been paying attention and now it's now longer packaged in the DNN build? I am sure Forum is better. But Discussion was simpler. When did go?

it was superceded by the forums module a few years back, I think around 2.12 was the last update.

Hi Cathal,

Interesting because Wrox's Professional DotNetNuke 4 still talks about the Discussions module.

I guess that what's behind this question is the possibility that with all our wonderful, feature-rich core modules, there could be a case for a minimalist path - a sort of "DotNetNuke without tears". I remember VisiCalc - that dates me - it just did what it had to and no more, you would run out of things to tell people about it in one hour.

Maybe documentation that doesn't mention all the bells and whistles is enough, as in "DotNetNuke for Dummies" - I'll have to look at a copy.

Regards

Geoffrey

Discussions had a major security issue and was suspended accordingly. Unfortunately there has been noone willing to take care of it.

Hi Geoffrey, It's not free, but I wrote the Facebook-style Wall to make a context-aware Discussion module. You can check it out on my player profile or my poker league as an example of usage.
