My suggestion is that you can confirm that (if the file is not on your local computer) the media file still exsists. If so confirm that the url location is correct in your code. If so open it with any media player (ex. Windows Media Player) and see if you can see or hear anything. If you can't then it means your local computer does not have the nessasery encoder installed.

It might be that the mime type is not setup on the new server....what I would try is put the hard code to point to the windows media file on the old server...if it plays back...then you know it's not the file but the server....I'm guessing that the mime-type for wmv files has not been setup on the new server.  To check this...put the media file on your DNN portal has a link in a links module....if it won't download then it's your server.
