Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and very interested in trying out DotNetNuke, it looks great.  But I can't download any of the items from the download page.  When I try, I see the "Click here to download files..." bar are the top of IE and select "Download File", but I get a fatal IE (7.0 all service packs) error (GPF) every single time.  I've rebooted, clear all my cookies and temp internet files, etc.  Same thing, every time, on every download item.  I never have had this problem with other sites or downloads.

Does anyone have advice?  I'm getting off to a bad start with DotNetNuke!

Thanks, -Chris.

download itself is provided by SourceForge, maybe you got a bad mirror. you can try the following direct link as well: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dnn

Thanks I tried that... but then realized download section here uses those same URLs:

Initial download page:  http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=77052&package_id=77939&release_id=606199
A few seconds after going here, I get general IE error: http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=77052&use_mirror=voxel&filename=DotNetNuke_04.08.04_Source.zip&66756355

Strange.  But I can download from my wifes computer, although the same strange thing happened on hers the first time, which was after click "Save" to save the download to my hard drive, IE just disappeared.  Gone.  This is what happened on my computer the first time I tried.  But on hers, when I tried again it worked.  But it still doesn't work on mine.  I have IE 7.x she has 6.x.  Upgrading to 7.x was probably my first mistake.  :)

Hmmm, my wife just popped up the IE instance I used to successfully download from that was minimized, and sure enough she got an IE GPF error.  There's definetely something wrong with that SourceForge download page.  Either that or I have a virus on both my computers. :D   Although I doubt it, I haven't had a virus on any of my computers for looooong time.

Is DNN downloads available any where else besides SourceForge?

I am very confident that hundres of thousands of people have been able to download DNN using IE :)  There would have been a lot more complaints if there really was an IE problem.. so I would check your IE very carefully.  Try "comodo", its a good free antvirus + firewall program.

Btw... use Firefox, its much better than IE and safer! ;)
