Hello.

Sorry folks but this module has caused nothing but trouble since the beginning.  If I create a page with permissions set to ALL USERS, and REGISTERED USERS, then add a DOCUMENTS module and then add (VIA UPLOAD) two documents (one is a Word 2003 .doc and the other is a PDF created from the Word file) The module permissions are set to ALL USERS and REGISTERED USERS, the file permissions are set to ALL USERS and REGISTERED users.  When I try to OPEN or SAVE the Word version of the document it goes through the LINKCLICK.ASPX process and the OPEN or SAVE dialog sits there-literally for hours and just spins.  No error, no notification that there is a problem-it just SPINS at 0%.  If I do the EXACT SAME THING with the PDF version the file OPENS, or SAVES in SECONDS.  The files are < 100K-so they are not large.  So my questions:

1) Why can't this module just WORK?

2) If I can't make every file a PDF-WHAT IS THE WORK AROUND?

Please help.  This has been a sickness for months and there is no consistent thing that explains why it happens.  Totally frustrated with this part of DNN and no one seems to know the answer.

Greg,

I apologize that you are having troubles with this module, however, if the linkclick.aspx process is occuring, the issue is not with the documents module but in the file serving process which is handled by the core (linkclick.aspx) file.

Do you have MS word set to open documents inside the browser window, or does it typically open to the actual MS word application? 

Are you able to open MS Word documents from other locations in your DNN site?

Are you able to open MS Word documents from other websites?
