Which download does it? The Source Package, the Starter Kit Package or the Install Package. The descriptions of the packages have nothing to do with their performance.
We are talking about the packages for the
Apparently I can't use the Source package because I use Visual Web Developer Express 2005 or 2008.
However, near the bottom of the DotNetNuke home page it says
"DotNetNuke is designed for use on the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 platforms using Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio 2008, or Visual Web Developer. "
So why can't I use Visual Web Developer with the Source package?
For that matter, what do we mean by "Visual Web Developer"? Only the full blown version for hundreds of dollars or does the term include the 2005 and 2008 Express versions which are free?
And why do the instructions in the readme file say to use only .NET Framework 2.0 when the statement on the home page says DotNetNuke works with 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5?
