Another note here...  Even when I use the Permalink, which brings me to a single repository item, it is very slow.  Is there a specific procedure that is used there that could use some speed enhancements?

hmmm. well the PermaLink uses an ID to quickly find the data item. It's a simple sproc that selects 1 row based on the primary key field, ItemID. However, it also performs a COUNT of the comments for the item from the grmRepositoryComments table.  Try adding an index on the Comments table and see if that helps...

CREATE INDEX [IX_{objectQualifier}grmRepositoryComments]
ON {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}grmRepositoryComments]([ObjectID])

Apparently, there is already an index...

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: There is already an index on table 'grmRepositoryComments' named 'IX_grmRepositoryComments'.

Steve,

I'm in the process of moving my web site to a new host (discountasp.net), so I will keep you posted as to how it goes performance-wise.  They seem to be a bit better of a host overall.

Steve,

The move took care of the problem.  The slowness was caused by my previous host and was honestly very frustrating to deal with them as they said it was DNN's fault, and not the servers.  On the new host, the speed is just fine...
