Hi All,

I am a beginner for the DotNetNuke, and needs to create a web site the searches into different tables. Each search could use fields like First, Last, State Zip, or the search could be done by Company Name, City and State. Each search provides a different set of fields in a different page.

If one table brings no records then move to the next table and so forth.  The result should be nicely shown in a table ....
So I am trying to figure out how long that could take to set up the module for that? The database with sample data was created already.

Thanks,

Doron

It all depends on exactly what you have to work with, the data structures, the permissions sets, the desired display, and the overall flow of the module that you need.

it is very hard, almost impossible to just give a figure without full details of the project.

1 hour, 13 minutes and 42 seconds.  Give or take.

Of course, that's based on the assumption of unlimited resources...

I THINK NOT! I am taking 3 days trying to learn how to "recompiling" the module lol I don't have unlimited resources but I have unlimited candy supply here.

Anyway, read this :http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/

I like this tutorial.

Hi Jeff,

I like your estimate of time.  But I will need to set something like that: http://www.intelius.com/ While each option represents a data entry and then you see a table of the search results. That what I need initially to accomplish. Well I created 5 Business Objects(BO) while each one represent a table that calls a stored procedures and add some parameters on the fly. That was a basic search I did outside of the DotNetNuke, which was pretty quick.

Using the DotNetNuke framework is another story for me. I am trying just to do that basic thing I mentioned above with the DotNetNuke. So for an experienced DotNetNuke developer I guess 1 hour will be too much? or initially it could take 5 to 10 hours to setup the module I mean..

Thanks,

Doron
