Hello,

I would like to say that this events module is great. I have some questions or perhaps they are feature requests. We currently use the Events module as a calendar. Some of our events are re-occuring and others are not. http://web.culpepercounty.gov/CountyInformation/CountyCalendar.aspx is where we are using for visual referance. I recieve a weekly update on events and attempting to adjust the date/time to a new date and time for that event an event that is re-occuring causes the event to simply disappear.

Feature 1
For example, a meeting occurs on the 2nd wednesday of the month, 4/15 however this meeting was re-scheduled to the following day (4/16). If I go in and change the date to that day (4/16) the event for that month disappears.

Feature 2
Also if the event is cancelled it I have to type in the Notes section. This then propagates to all the re-occuring events instead of the one for that specific day.

For Feature 1, I'm not exactly sure why this is occuring, but I would like to include an option for the event. To have a box that says "Rescheduled To:" And then you enter the date. It should only affect that single instance and not all instances. In other words it shouldn't adjust the reoccurance settings.

Feature 2, I would like to see a Cancelled check box which would either remove that month's instance or simply put in the words "Cancelled" in the display.

Thanks,
Owen

Hi Owen,

The good news is that both these requests will be met by some code I'm just finishing up and will be in the next major release (4.1.0). I can't promise when that will be released, but it will be feature packed.

Essentially you will be able to change/delete any single instance of a recurring event, without impacting all the other instances.

In the current world, I would guess that your change of the date/time is having an impact on the recurrence logic. Without looking at it in detail, I can't be 100%.  But if you are doing an update, there is no way you can delete the event. Bear in mind that currently all occurences have only one record in the database, so when you edit an event, you are in fact always editing all of them. This is the major change to the 4.1.0 version, where each occurence of an event has it's own record in the database, so can be manipulated independantly.

Cheers
Roger

That is exactly how I figured it worked. Thanks for the response Roger really looking forward to this update! :)
