OK, I got it. The request does not go out with a 'User-Agent'. This is because it is generated inside the module, so there is no user agent like IE or FF. The feed you mention refuses to respond to a request without a User-Agent. I guess it doesn't hurt to put it in there in a future version of this module, but the importance of the user-agent for a RSS source baffles me.

I have a situation where I am trying to use the News module RSS on my Home page to grab recents Blogs entries from the blogs page.  I get the download error.  To access any page in my site, the user needs to login.  I am using AD for authenticating the users.  I have tried setting the login info in the news module settings .  It doesnt seems to work.    Please note I have found that if I set the blog module to not require login (ie accessible to all users), the news module RSS is able to pull up the info on the Home page.

Appreciate if you would help me with the settings or any work arounds for this issue.

Thanks!

I have been whining about this  issue all day over at the configure it forum. Since the module I want to pull from generates it's own code for the news feed, I can't understand why the code is in error. At least I know now I am not the only. I will be on the lookout for a solution.

Hi,

I've also been having this error for all my RSS feeds on my new site, however the same feeds are working on my demo.dotnetnuke.com site which led me to believe that there was a configuration error on my host. After a bit of searching I found a number of posts that have a similar issue with my hosting provider who happen to be GoDaddy. Based on recommendations I removed the proxy settings in the Hosts menu and most of the rss feeds now work, one or two need some more investigation though ...

Best Wishes

Nicholas
