Hi,

Would greatly appreciate if anyone could solve this problem for me.

I was using DNN 3.3.4 and have successfully upgraded to 3.3.7. From 3.3.7 i have installed DNN 4.4.1 by extracting over the existing folder.  When i started the installation by typing http://203.209.209.52/install/install.aspx the following runtime error was displayed

Server Error in '/dias' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Switched tag to "off" but recieved the same runtime error.

I cannot proceed anyfurther as i dont know what causing it.

I would greatly appreaciate if anyone could help with this.

First guess is you didn't migrate your web.config settings to the new web.config.

Second guess is that you didn't reset IIS for ASP.NET 2.x.

Hi Thanks for your help.

I have done the following:

1. reset Asp.net to 2.x

2. migrate web.config to new

3. Restarted ISS

4. Set the to Off.

But yet i cannot by pass the run time error. Please help.

Managed to solve the runtime error by redirecting dnn root directory in the virtual directory. Thanks.
