The User Account module doesn't appear in the add module drop down menu. I have clicked on "Import Module Definition", selected "Desktopmodules/UsersOnline/Settings.ascx" from the Control drop down and selected Import Control. I received the error message "Error Importing Selected Control."  I have been able to import other modules but not the user account module. How do I reinstall the User Account module?

First the Users Online and the User Account module are different modules.  If you have uninstall the users Online Module I sugest a new install of the DNN Framework, and restart.

The User Account and Login modules would be installed as part of the core.  So there is no seperate package availible.  I would suggest you to read the Detailed Install manuel you can get from the Resources / Documents page.  Also please have a good look to the permission and IIS settings!

I downloaded the Install manual from Resources/Documents but it didn't describe how to "reinstall" DNN. Do I FTP the contents of DotNetNuke_04.08.04_Install.zip to my DNN directory and over write the existing files on my web site? I read "Upgrading v3.x to v4.x Install only" on page 38 of the "DotNetNuke Installation Guide.pdf" but I couldn't figure out the second step which says "In VS2005 or VWD select New Website … and follow the procedure described in the previous chapter, except that you will need to select the location of your existing Website;".

I also downloaded "DotNetNuke_04.08.04_StarterKit.vsi" but couldn't open it since I don't have a vsi archive program to open it. I Google'd vsi archive but couldn't a program to open the file.

I'm going nowhere fast!

When clicking 'login' or 'register', the module (form) does not appear.  This is the second installation of DNN that this has happened on.  It seems to occur after making changes to the file structure of the solution in Visual Studio 2008.  However, as far as I know, nothing was altered that involved the login.  Do you have any clues here?
