I have a portal running and I have logged in to the host account. I go to add portal and create a new portal. It starts creating the portal but goes to a page saying website cannot be found. What is the problem? The instructions seem easy but not luck. I tried creating a folder in the WWWROOT directory with new new portal name but nothing happened. I have tried filling out everything except for the location, since it has a default setting, but still no luck. I always get a cannot be found web page. Thanks in advance for any help from the community.

I'm just a noob.

Are you trying to add a Parent or a Child portal?

Parent is represented by a www.dotnetnuke.com URL, whereas a Child site would be under an already registered domain such as;  www.dotnetnuke.com/MyPortal

I am adding a parent on an intranet server. There is no DNS entry for the server such as www, instead I access it localy using the http://localhost/intranet We are testing to see if the product would be useful in our company. The idea is to have one main page all users go to and from there they select their geographic location. Each location would have its own site to maintain but the initial page would be the same across sites. Thanks
