I like the way that the site log turns the requests into the page name and I expect I won't find an IIS log file analyzer that will do the same.

However, DotNetNuke does not appear to record file downloads in the site log such as PDF.  It looks like I would have to go to two different reporting tools, the built in DotNetNuke site log for page views and an IIS log file analyzer for file downloads.

Is there a way to configure the site log to record and report file downloads?

-or-

Does anyone know of a good IIS log file analyzer that will provide good metrics on web page hits, especially since some of the hits come in the form of the LinkClick.aspx page while others go to Default.aspx for the exact same page?

If you use the repository module, I believe it  can track downloads. But in general, no the core doesn't support that.

Everything goes to default.aspx. The differnece is in the querystring variable TabId. In general, I aviod using the linkclick when possible, for SEO reasons. As far as metrics go, I would install the Ifinity URL rewriter and use google analytics.

Can you please elaborate on the url rewriter and google analytics solution to track downloads?

Thanks
