I'm new to both DNN and .NET.  I have a hidden field on my module's ascx that I would like to set and then retrieve on postback.  I have a handler for the page Init event where I would like to retrieve the value on postback.  I can see my hidden field in the browser HTML just fine, although the name has been scrambled by DNN.  This means that on postback, I can't just fetch the value using Request.Params(<myControlID>).

What is the proper way to get the hidden field's value using the ID of the control?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

You could use the ASP.NET hidden field and then it will automatically set the value for you so you could retrieve the value using "hndSomeThing.Value" -OR- you could access it still using Request.Params[this.ClientID + "_myControlID"].  Due to the dynamic nature of modules and DNN in general, all the controls receive a "ClientID" according to their "container".  This is to prevent issues with controls in other modules using the exact same name.
