Until very recently, I used to create links to documents and forms to specific pages of my portal very easily, using the text editor, highlight the text, click on "create link", and hit OK. Afterwards I could select the document I wanted to link from a “Link Gallery” window and the link was done. Nevertheless for some reason it does not work anymore now. Instead, when I do the follow the same steps as explained above, what I get now is the layout of the page I was working with and a simple message: "A critical error has occurred" appearing at the bottom of the page. All the old links still work fine.

Our DNN version is 3.1.1.
Can any body help. Thanks

You'll probably have to provide some more detailed info or retrace your steps regarding things that have been changed with the site recently. Does your event log note anything unusual prior to discovering the critical error? Try posting the error message here to see if anyone recognizes it.
