Forgive me for the possible obviousness of my question, but I'm very much a newbie to DNN. I've done databases before in SQL and used PHP to access them, but I'm not sure how to do it in DNN. Can anyone give me a quick how to on setting up a database in DNN.

Again, I realize that the answer may be simple, but any help you can give me is appreciated. Thank you.

There is a complete step by step guide in the "Dotnetnuke Installation Guide.pdf" that you can download from this site on how to setup a database in DNN for the initial install, if thats what your after.  You need to look in the web.config file and edit the following:

<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 -->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=<Your DB name>;uid=<UserID>;pwd=<password>;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>

Hope this helps
