All of a sudden one of my client's sites has all blank pages.  He has been working on this site for weeks after I convinced him that DNN was the way to go...  This morning he calls to ask if I'm doing maintenance or something because all his pages are showing as blank.  All my other sites on this install of DNN are fine.  But his is not.  Also, we're now unable to add any new modules to the blank pages that are showing.  We're running v4.08.04.  Our host wants $30 to restore the tape but I'm not convinced that will fix it since something seems to be fundamentally wrong with DNN now that we can't add modules.  He claims he didn't do anything with the site for a few days before the problem began.

Does anyone have any ideas how this could have happened or how to restore the pages (if they still exist but just aren't being displayed)?

I need help fast.

Thanks,

Ian

Chances are that your client has put the site into "design mode."  It's a radio button on the control panel.  Choosing either "View" or "Edit" will make the content visible again.

I second Joe's solution.  I have been on the receiving end of those sort of calls too and it was always the "View/Edit" issue.

I figured it out.  The problem was that I had a contract expiration date setup for this client and had forgotten to reset it when they last paid.  Unfortunately, the skin he was using apparently doesn't have the tag used to show the notice that this is what's going on.  Changing the skin to the DNN default showed the problem and it was quickly resolved.

Skin designers:  Please be sure to put this tag in your skins.

Thanks,

Ian
