I have created a container that I have zipped into a file called containers.zip.  I then placed that file into my containername folder and zipped that.  I then installed the container on dnn by going to admin/skins/upload container.  The upload and install went well, without errors.  However, when I select the container from the dropdown, I get the following message: No files exist in this folder dnn container installation.

Do you have to have a skin folder also in order for it to work?  Can you not just install a container?  I am logged in as the host. Please advise.

It's your Zip file.  If you use Windows' Send To Compressed File... then you get a bad file structure in your Zip file.  Your Zip file needs to follow the layout in the docs exactly, a zip file nameed for the skin, and inside a second Zip named containers.zip  Your containers must be in the root of that Zip and you probably have a folder in there called containers.

I don't have a skin file...I just have the zip file named "redcontainer" and then that zip file contains the "containers.zip".  Is this incorrect?

That's fine.  Except that your containers.zip probably contains a folder with the containers under it.  Unzip it and see.
