Love the new version 04.00.02!! Everything is working but the order of the RSS feed is showing the date order from the oldest to the newest. I would like to find the event as thier are coming up. You can see the sample at http://crcstl.cns.msu.edu/SeminarSchedule/tabid/75/moduleid/401/RSS.aspx I want the Sept to show before Dec evernts. Does anyone know how to change this?

Hi Matt,

Just for your information, the RSS feed capability is more by accident than design. Something I have just been working on is including a proper RSS capability within the module. This will be in version 4.1.0. It will allow definition of Feed Title/Description, and which date to use as the Publish Date (Creation, Latest Update, Event Date). This will not use the core syndication capability (which I think uses the search function), but will provided a dedicated icon at top right of the module. Hopefully I can get some time to blog on this at the week-end.

That said, I think the sorting of events within your feed reader is controlled by the feed reader, not by the module sending the data. Using the Feeds capability of IE7, you can sort the dates by clicking on Date at top right of the page. I'm not sure if you save the sort order as a default.

Cheers
Roger

I am using the News Module in DNN and it does not allow you to change the sort order. I look foward to the next version.

Matt-
Check out the solution posted in this blog:  http://eguanasolutions.com/Blog/tabid/54/EntryID/12/Default.aspx

Basically, the solution is to upload a custom XSL file for the DNN NewsFeed module to use and to add a single line to parse the fed TITLE string for the event date and then sort by that.  Because this relies on a separate copy of an XSL file, the change does not impact core DNN code (and therefore should not get overwritten if you do an update for NewsFeed or for the DNN framework).

Cheers!
