I want to install my site from the host on my server so that I can upgade it and load it back to the server. But I can't get it to work. These are the steps I'm doing:

- Backup db and zipped site folders
- Restore db on the local SQL and restore Folders
- Modify web.config with new database pointers

I'm getting the standard error page after the upgrade message. On the host I have 4.03 and locally 4.05

Could somebody tell me what are the correct steps to do this.

make sure, you add the local address as a Portal alias in Host :: Portals before backing up the site on host platform. Alternatively you can add this entry directly into table "PortalAlias" on local system after restore.

Just add "localhost" as one of the portal aliases in the PortalAliases table. That way you can access your DNN installation using http://localhost url once you have proper IIS settings configured on your workstation.
