Thanks SEbastian,

By removing the below the site was upgraded successfully.

<add
    name="SiteSqlServer"
    connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
  <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>

Thanks heaps.

Thanks Tony,

It was the extra lines in the connection string that was giving the problem. The user guide i used to upgrade did not mention about removing the highlighted lines and i am not good at codings.

Now that i have upgraded i m not sure what other errors i might find. This forum is great, it helped me alot. Thanks so much Tony.
