Dear all,

Please help,

I’m new to DotNetNuke, but after working with it for about 3 months now I have managed to create a wonderful web application for my company (I used DNN 4.8.4 Starter Kit and Visual Studio 2008) I’m staying in Tanzania and I’m among the first few developers to start using DNN (So little no local help).

The problem is, my hosting company IXWEBHOSTING.COM has proven to be a horrible host for DNN. The do not provide for any way for me to Restore my local database on their Server, and worst still they refused my request of having them restore my database for me. Yes, through their control panel I created an empty database which I hoped to restore using my local database. All attempts to convince them to help me failed and I cannot imagine spending another 2 months recreating what I’ve already done locally.

My host insists that I use the Database Publishing Wizard which does produce errors each time I try using it.

MY QUESTION IS what should I do in such a situation? Taking into account that I cannot dump my host, at least not that fast? Is the Database Publishing Wizard a viable option?

Please Help

I think you should be able to restore with BackupScript module.

You should better to have straight hands rather then to bother you hosting company )

Publisher wizard is a good tool, it is very easy to backup restore all SQL databases not only for DNN.

Ask microsoft how to use it ;)
