Anyone managed to get DNN to work with SQL Server Compact edition?

I've been trying but not been able to work out the connection string.

This would be really useful for me because SQLServ compact is so much lighter than the entire SQL server express package.

Is it possible?  If so, can I have an example connection string please?

thanks

Angus

Hi Angus,

What's the goal here?  SQL Server Compact targets mobile devices and disconnected environments.  DotNetNuke is an application that is not particularly designed to be run in either of these scenarios.  Are you trying to host an install on a compact device?

I'm pretty sure that you really want MSSQL Express here, but if you elaborate a bit on what you're trying to accomplish we can guide you with better advice.

Brandon

SQL server compact edition does not support stored procedures and cannot be used to host DotNetNuke.

At least not without a custom data provider, which does not exist.
