I have posted several times to multiple DNN boards asking one question:  how do you set the country on the registration page to default to the country the user is registering from?  I know it is IP based but I don't know how to do it and no one has responded.  (you can see what I mean by going to the registration page on this site: http://www.coohya.com/)  Please let me know if you know how to do it.  Thank you.

you don't need to do anything. We will determine the user's IP by default, and look up the country of origin that the RIPE block that IP appears within. This is estimated to be about 90% correct (some people don't update their details correctly or sell their blocks without letting RIPE know). If an IP address is non-routable such as localhost (127.0.0.1) or one of the other blocks for internal use such as 192.168.*.* ,There are a few IP addresses that are reserved for private (non internet-routable) networking such as  10.1.1.1 - 10.255.255.254, 172.16.1.1 - 172.31.255.254, 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.255.254  and of course localhost (127.0.0.1). If your IP shows as one of these (e.g. you're developing on an intranet), we don't select the country.

Cathal, I have no idea what you're talking about.  Who is "we" you refer to in your message, is this some sort of service you offer?  You mention that "you" don't need to do anything, so if that's the case, why am I even asking this question?  I appreciate your input, but it doesn't help at all.
