 Hello all,

I'm fairly new to DNN.  I have updated a site extensively that has been set up with DNN.  However, I now have a problem.  A client was seeking a way to be able to update a site cheaply.  I suggested DotNetNuke and Contribute.  DNN was something I've been wanting to delve deeper into, so I figured this would be a great opportunity to do so.

That being said, the client confirmed today that DNN was the preferred choice.  I got to doing some research, and I can't really find any info for DotNetNuke using Mac OS X Leopard (10.5).  I'm beginning to think it is not even a option, that you have to use Windows.

Is it possible to set up DNN using Mac OS X, or do you have to do BootCamp and have Windows on the machine in order to set up DNN through?

If I will not be able to set this up with a Mac, then I've gotta change the client's mind, pronto.

Someone out there with more insight than me please help!

Huckleberry

Since DNN is an ASP.Net application and requires the MS .Net Framework and IIS, the only way I know to set it up on a Mac is to use VPC software and use a copy of Windows to host the local instance of DNN.

As mentioned above, DotNetNuke is an ASP.NET application that requires the .NET framework to execute.  I have heard stories of people getting it working with Grasshopper, but I'm not sure on that one.

You can set it up with BootCamp, Parallels, or similar virtual PC solutions with a valid windows installation.  However, you cannot just install it on OS X.

If you host the site elsewhere you can do all administration tasks from a MAC, you just can't run a local copy!
