Hi guys,

I couldn't install the latest version of dnn on my godaddy hosting account and gave up. Instead I am trying to learn dnn on my windows xp pro box. however I have a weird problem. You see I am using dynamic dns forwarding service through dyndns.com and when I enter www.mydomain.com as soon as dnn opens up url changes to http://localhost/portal

I don't know how I did this but I should say my root site working fine as soon as I jump over dnn this problem happens. any ideas?

thanks

Jamal

Login with Host credentials and check the portal alias for the portal. You should have www.mydomain.com listed in there (it's been awhile but you may also have to remove localhost/portal from the list). Do a backup of your database before making any changes so that you can revert back if you need to.

Mike is correct. Add the alias to the Portal Aliases table and it'll kick right in. You don't have to remove the localhost/portal entry... I usually leave it so I can work on the portal locally. When editing, it seems a bit faster if you use localhost instead of the domain.

I checked the alias, it was showing localhost

I added my web site name/domain too but it didn't fix it.

I deleted the whole folder and reinstall the DNN from www.mydomain.com/install xx

this time it worked. But later on I found out I didn't have to delete the folder I could have just restart the installation wizard.

Anyway I just want to thank everybody who made this script.
