I managed something... basically i now have it 100% height of the screen so the module container expands down underneath everything.  I want it to be 100% height of its current container though.  At the moment it just keeps on going.

To make it work, on your css for the put the html to 100%

html, body{

   margin:0px;
   padding:0px;
   height:100%;
}

Hope this help.

I managed to make the container 100% of the screen, it now goes underneath a seperate pane below and cuts off the end.  All i did was set the container classes to height: 100%.  It seems the panes don't stop containers extending further.  Any ideas on how to stop this?

Si, did you create the skin as well as the container?  If so make sure that in your skin that you don't have space reservered for the top and bottom panes and that the the cell that you have the content pane in is set to 100% as well
