You said you are using visual web developer?

But you run your project under IIS? If you are running under IIS then I don't have any Idea.

I assumed you should have a portnumber because the VWD builtin debug server never uses the default port (80)

I think 'BLACKBIRD\ASPNET'account have dbo access to the dnn db.
This DDN project is create with default values in web.config.

I use MS SQL Server Management Studio Express that states:
Security.logins has BLACKBIRD\ASPNET.

C:\INETPUB\WWWROOT\DOTNETNUKE\APP_DATA\DATABASE.MDF has (the db that fails)Security.Users.BLACKBIRD/ASPNET

When creating a new DDN project that works correctly (just by ctrl-F5) ,
this DB does not have BLACKBIRD\ASPNET and it still works OK.

I have encountered something similar when I was running SQL Express; if you just accessed the db from the Visual Studio and then try to access it from DNN it will fail, since Sql Express allows only one connection at a time. Try to open it in your browser without opening it with Visual studio first and see if you get the same error, or try to close the SQL connection before you try to access it.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I figured I'd mention about it, just in case it would help someone...

Cheers,

Waldis
