Penton is a large user of DNN.  In fact DevConnections, our OpenForce Conference partner, is a Penton subsidiary.  DotNetNuke Corp and R2i are currently working with Penton to migrate their existing WindowsITPro site to DNN and will be discussing some of our lessons lerned in a Panel discussion at OpenForce North America.  I don't find it odd that a Sharepoint community site run by a large corporation would be using DNN.  The thing to remember is that many organizations consolidate on just one or two platforms.  What would seem odd is if a company felt compelled to use a dozen different platforms just because they published technology magazines targeting many different platforms.

Joe,

Thanks for your input. Really interesting to hear about your involvement with Penton, and great news for DNN.

Of course I realise the importance of going with one solution to consolidate from a technical viewpoint. I just had to smile when I first came across the DNN site which talks about Sharepoint.

It is great to hear about these big endorsements. Is there a list of big users somewhere? Perhaps it could be continually updated...

Thanks again,

Sam

Sam,

My presentation material is rather simple -- other than some sample sites (now including the Penton sites) and the brief description of DNN, the presentation is all about performing an install -- depending on the audience this can be 5 to 50+ minutes in length.  The presentation helps counter many of the newie issues about a failed install seen in the forums.

Paul.
