Hi, I hope you can help.

I would like to populate about 6 session("Variables") on user login whether it be (via form or cookie) .

I only need to do this once on each user visit - when authentication takes place.

Previously on basic asp.net (2.0) I just wrote a class and called it at page level to check to see if vars had been filled. But I don;t know where to start in DNN.

Any simple pointers?

Many thanks

Peter

Hi Peter,

Check out the httpModules in the web.config. This is a list of components that will run on every single request. This is a good place to start where you'd like to hook in.

In the list you will spot UrlRewrite which is a pretty essential one in the DNN system. It takes care of wiring the request to the right site and also the right user.

Peter

i am adding cutom code to the login event for each user.

i found the signin event in signin.aspx.vb that is triggered when a user loges in.

i can not find the event for when a user is loged in with the rememebr me function of DNN.

does anyone know the file? function? where a user is loged in from the cookie with the remember me feature.

thanks.
