Hi,

I'm using a javascript library that requires as a parameter the ID of a textfield created in the html. The problem is that DNN transforms the ID of things to dnn$stuff$thespecifiedID.

Is it possible to obtain the ID the field will have without hacks, so i can add it to my javascript call somehow? (Rewriting the javascript is not possible as it's not my script.)

Cheers!

On your behind code you can try to add a javascript that declare a variable of the text box so you can use them on your script. Please note: below is just a sample, you may need to tweak them according to your needs. Hope this help

ex:

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles Me.Load

'Your textbox
Dim sb As New System.Text.StringBuilder()

sb.Append("<script language=""javascript"">")
sb.Append("var id = " & myTextBox.ClientID & ";"
sb.Append("</script>")
End Sub

One learns something new every day!

I'm using "<%=txtField.ClientID %>" in the .ascx file instead, saves me page_load code.

Thanks for the help!
