Correction.  I was wrong.  The maxThreads solution did not work.

Rodney is right and we need a fix.

I can't believe this hasn't been more of a show stopper.

Ok, some progress - Joe mentioned that a 4.9.1 release may be an option. I was asked to raise the bug which I have done here. Please add anything that may help QA/core team on this.
